3 Books to read by the end of the year.

It’s no surprise that the world continues to change at an alarming rate. I do not consider myself a luddite, and gladly embrace every technological advancement that has become integral to the 21st century, (save for TikTok). However, I recognize the great value books add to our lives, and am yet to find an equatable substitute.
So, in the coming weeks, here am some book recommendations which have changed my life and you should consider reading and/or gifting:

Into Thin Air – John Krakuer
A book on grit, adventure, determination and alpinism. This is a great book for anyone who loves adventure and the outdoors. It is a classic and great read, and maybe the first book I read on big mountain expeditions. Great read.

Get Up and Ride – Jim Shea
A wonderful well-written book about two guy’s adventure on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail. A very easy, engaging read, it is packed with themes, circumstances and locations that are very familiar to most of you. It also contains a lot of insight and tips for those who have this amazing ride on their bucket list. Great read and/or gift. Also, consider subscribing to Jim’s newsletter.

Contentment – the secret to lasting calm – Richard Swenson
This is probably one of my favorite books which I try to read once a year. This book is a salve for the restlessness we struggle with in our lives today, offering practical means to evaluate our current state, establish success, and set us on a path to peace. I highly recommend. Get a copy for you and another as a gift.

 Keep your Wheelz Up!
And remember, in all things, be thankful.
