Mandela’s Muses.
As summer bends toward fall, the cool mornings and gentle breezes remind us that the seasons keep moving. First spring, then summer—both have had their moment, and now the latter gives way to the golden haze of fall. So too will our good days and our hard days pass, and for all of it, we can be thankful.
We don’t need to wait until November to practice gratitude. Gratitude isn’t a holiday—it’s a posture we carry with us. It is the antidote to despair, pulling us beyond ourselves as we ride out the last days of this season of sun. I am so thankful for all those who have made my life and work possible, no one is an island, and life moves at the speed of trust – relationships.
On the trail, gratitude comes alive in simple ways: the faces we see, the hands that help, the conversations in the shop, the smiles exchanged on the towpath. These are small, steady reasons to give thanks.
So here’s my encouragement: before the season shifts completely, show thankfulness to someone in your life. A kind word on the trail. A text to a friend. A note of appreciation to a coworker. And as I thank you for taking time to read this newsletter and support Wheelzup, may we carry gratitude not just into fall, but into every season.
