What’s up People!
Some quick thoughts for your week:

“Anger is like an oven, heat without light
Forgiveness is like the moon; light without gear”
James Clear.

Mandela’s Muses.

Most times it is quite difficult to admit, but, I mostly feel completely at home when I am 30,000 feet in an airplane over the Atlantic. I was born and grew up in Nigeria, left when I was 19, and have spent most of my adult like in the United States.
Alas, when I go home to Nigeria, I am not the 19 year old who left, neither am I fully an America, in mindset or conviction. I am a mix of both times and places.

This makes the holidays a difficult time for me. There are in me whispers of pining for something I can’t quite grasp or attain. There is a morning for a time or place i never really knew. I feel there are many people who over the holidays, experience a similar level of emptiness, a nagging void which I think can only be scratched by the love of others.

As a shop, we are definitely very interested in making money, however, more importantly we are interested in people, and making them know their story matters.
Please join us in doing the same this year, love someone this period.

Why so expensive!!!
We know it can be difficult to spend the money for the price tags you may see on some of the things we carry at Wheelzup.
Here are a few things to consider, and a little bit on why it is worth it to consider doing so…

How we buy at Wheelzup:
Our brands:

  1. Use the highest quality materials
  2. Use sustainable manufacturing, using recycled materials as much as possible
  3. Adopt fair trade and labor principles
  4. Stand behind their product
  5. Look flipping great

You dont need to buy one every year, just buy One!

🍂 WheelzUp Adventures’ 10 Things We’re Thankful For This Thanksgiving 🍁

Customers Who Pack Light (Sometimes)
Because while we love selling gear, watching someone attempt to fit a tent, cooler, stove, and three sleeping bags into a 20L pannier is… an adventure we didn’t sign up for.

Campfire Cooking Masterpieces
Here’s to the geniuses who turn a can of beans and a bag of marshmallows into a Michelin-star meal (or at least make it edible).

Hiking Trails That Lead Somewhere Cool
We’re thankful for the paths that end in stunning views, not just “Oops, wrong turn, let’s bushwhack back!”

Waterproof Everything
Because rain happens. A lot. And we’re glad it’s your socks staying dry—not just your gear.

Sunscreen Warriors
Cheers to everyone who slathers on SPF before hitting the trail. Lobster-red hikers are fun to spot but hard to treat.

Our Wheelzup Inventory That Actually Fits in Stockrooms
(Okay, MOST of it.) Outdoor gear tends to take up more space than we planned—looking at you, bikes

The People Who Still Buy Paper Maps
When the GPS says, “Signal lost,” these heroes are out there, navigating like it’s 1995. Respect

Sasquatch/Bigfoot Rumors
Because nothing keeps the campfire stories alive like “I swear I saw something move out there.”

Dogs Who Hike Better Than We Do
They climb higher, run faster, and still have the energy to wag their tails at the summit. We’re not jealous (much).

You! Our Awesome Adventurers
Thanks for trusting us with your outdoor escapades. Without you, we’d just be a warehouse full of gear and bad jokes.

Happy Thanksgiving, adventurers! 🥾🍗 Wherever the trail takes you, we’re thankful to be part of the journey.

The downtown finally reopened after 16 months of construction. Thanks to all that were involved, and a big sigh of relief.

Come down and visit the Baltimore Street location.

This was a very moving performance. One strong word – ponder the message though…
