Boat Rental & Outdoor Experience Staff (Seasonal)

Location: Rocky Gap State Park – Lake Habeeb
Season: Mid-May – October
Schedule: Seasonal, variable hours (weekends & holidays required)

Wheelzup Adventures is seeking dependable, energetic Boat Rental & Outdoor Experience Staff to support our operations on Lake Habeeb at Rocky Gap State Park. This is a hands-on, outdoor-focused summer position ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and being outside.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete boat rental transactions for kayaks, paddleboards, and other watercraft
  • Ensure all safety standards and procedures are followed
  • Safely launch guests onto the lake and receive them at the end of their experience
  • Provide clear instructions and basic on-water guidance to guests
  • Assist with guided experiences such as kayak tours, SUP lessons, guided hikes, team-building events, and kids camps
  • Help maintain equipment and keep the rental area clean and organized
  • Occasionally assist with shifts at the Rocky Gap retail shop as needed

Requirements

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and moving watercraft and gear
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and enforce them with guests

Preferred Qualifications

  • Love for the outdoors and water-based activities
  • Experience with kayaking, paddleboarding, or outdoor recreation
  • Comfortable engaging with families, groups, and first-time participants
