Some quick thoughts for your week:

“Your choices reflect your hope, not your fear.”

A Trail Tale (Mandela’s muses).

I think it’s not uncommon for us to feel a bit melancholic at times, especially during what we call the shoulder season: when Winter is not quite over, and Spring is not in full swing. That’s where I find myself today.

Typically, I use this medium to Educate, Entertain, and Engage, however, today, I must admit the batteries are flat. A friend Mark Boles, recognized as the third black owner of a specialty outdoor retail store in the country tragically passed away last week (There are only 3 such owners in the entire country).

This demands a bit of contemplation, and I realize the bottomline is to prioritize hope, in every circumstance. No matter where you find yourself in life, or what you may be going through today, things will get better day, dont give up, the sun will rise.
3 Haikus on Hope
To cultivate a mindset of hopefulness, it’s essential to focus on positivity and resilience. Remember, “The darkest nights produce the brightest stars.” This quote reminds us that challenges and difficult times can lead to growth and success.

As I contemplate something constructive for this section, maybe something outdoorsy as well, I have decided to go totally off-script and share a few Haikus on hope.
Ponder this outdoors or not, enjoy.

Clarity, Spring, and the First Ride of the Season

Clarity, Spring, and the First Ride of the Season

Suffering sharpens us — but navigating it is exhausting. As spring approaches, a single quote by James Clear cut through the noise: “When you need clarity, subtract.” This season, I’m leaning into that idea. Spring cleaning isn’t just for closets. Sometimes the best move is simply making room for what matters.
